These last few years have presented the world with challenging situations. The global and local impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, wars, inflation and other looming crises, threaten to overwhelm. We may often feel like the writer of Romans 8:26, who confessed, “…we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
30 Days prepares content for each annual prayer guide months in advance, not knowing what will be happening when Ramadan next approaches and what the world will be facing. So this year we decided to focus the theme of our prayers for the Muslim world away from tragedies and challenges, and towards hope and joy. While continuing to pray for the needs of Muslim people, in our 2023 prayers we will emphasise stories of good things that are happening in Muslim communities and focus prayer on seeing more good things happen.
This looks like testimonies from new believers and church planters. It includes communities working together to improve their living conditions and families investing in their future. We’ll meet individuals who demonstrated courage and kindness, and groups who focused on achieving a goal to bless others. We will give thanks for what the Lord has done, and ask Him for more of His goodness to be released in the Muslim world.
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
